Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2025
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how the Chrome extension "Zen Search" (the "Extension") handles user information. Please read this policy carefully before using the Extension.
2. Information We Access and How We Use It
The Extension accesses the following information within your local browser environment. Browsing history, tab information, and bookmarks are processed locally on your device.
- Browsing history: Used to provide search results from your browser history.
- Tab information: Used to display and search your currently open tabs.
- Bookmarks: Used to include bookmark results in search.
When you use the Search Suggestions feature, the text you type is sent to
Google's Suggest API (google.com/complete/search) to retrieve search suggestions.
This request is made directly from your browser to Google; no data passes through our servers.
Google's own Privacy Policy
applies to that request.
3. Data Sharing
The Extension does not sell your data or store your browsing history, tabs, or bookmarks on external servers. When the Search Suggestions feature is used, the query text you enter is transmitted to Google's Suggest API as described above.
4. Security
Most browser data used by the Extension (history, tabs, bookmarks) is processed locally on your device. Suggestion requests that contact Google are subject to Google's security practices. We recommend keeping your operating system and browser up to date.
5. Your Rights
You can stop the Extension from accessing your data at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. You can also delete browsing history, tabs, and bookmarks directly through your browser's built-in features.
